The Irrigation Association team is a hardworking group that serves the irrigation industry by promoting efficient irrigation through advocacy and professional development. As part of a compact team, you will work directly on all aspects of legislative and regulatory strategy and work with the government and public affairs director to be on the forefront of irrigation legislation. The advocacy manager will report to the government and public affairs director.

You will have the opportunity to help irrigation professionals achieve success in their workplaces by:
researching and drafting briefings, policies and model legislation on issues that impact the irrigation industry as well as monitoring state and federal legislation and regulations.
working with the government and public affairs director in executing IA’s federal, state and local legislative and regulatory strategy.
managing the Smart Water Application Technologies (SWAT) initiative, including relationships with water providers.
managing the fundraising strategy for IrrigationPAC, the political action committee of the Irrigation Association.
planning and implementing the annual fly-in.
providing information, direction and staff support to the IA Government Affairs Committee.
assisting in the development and support of public affairs campaigns like Smart Irrigation Month.
providing support to the advocacy of irrigation standards and codes.
What we’re looking for:
Bachelor’s degree or higher
Three to five years of relevant experience
Excellent written and verbal communications as well as organizational skills
Occasional travel throughout the U.S.
Travel to the Irrigation Show (one week per year, November or December)
Full time, 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Salary and benefits:
$50,000-$55,000 annual salary
