Position: The National Grocers Association is seeking a proactive, detail-oriented individual with a strong spirit of collaboration to join our Communications and Marketing team. The Communications and Marketing Coordinator will support team members in various projects, including developing of copy for internal and external communications and marketing pieces, content for social media posts, press releases, blogs, and e-newsletters.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities are listed below. Other duties may be assigned.
Works with Vice President of Industry Relations, Communications and Marketing to help craft messaging related to association initiatives, including membership, programs and events.
Helps to draft press releases, statements, fact sheets, and talking points.
Creates content for select communications pieces, including e-newsletters, correspondence, reports, and publications.
Assist with writing, editing, and publishing of blog and social media postings.
Tracks social media analytics.
Compile and distribute daily media clips each morning.
Updates media contact lists on a monthly basis.
Works on special projects and other duties as needed to assist other groups within the Association.
Other duties as assigned.
Ability to work efficiently as a part of a team or independently in a fast-paced, high-volume work environment.
Highly organized with keen attention to detail.
Ability to manage multiple projects and work against tight deadlines.
Must possess a positive and proactive attitude along with excellent communication, specifically written, and interpersonal skills.
Must be a self-starter, who is proactive and has a strong work ethic and can-do attitude.
Willingness to learn and think outside the box.
Bachelor’s degree in communications, public relations, or similar field.
A minimum of two years of experience in communications, public relations, marketing, or related field.
Experience handling and completing large projects within a set time frame and budget.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite: Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
Strong knowledge in all major social media platforms.
Strong writing and communications skills.
Must provide three writing samples.
