NRF is seeking a Manager, Membership Development to join its Member Relations department. This individual will support strategic objectives and work to execute short-term and long-range tactics which align with the needs of a diverse and growing membership.
The ideal candidate will take an energetic and creative approach to develop and maintain valuable relationships and effectively impact recruitment/retention efforts and sales initiatives.
Works on recruitment and retention efforts which optimize membership quotas/targets and budgeted revenue goals
Collaborates with sales team in the design and evaluation of performance measurements- regularly adjusts strategy and objectives to align with the evolving member needs and industry
Leverages industry knowledge and network to identify potential new members and maintain strong relationships with members
Builds prospect lists utilizing SalesForce CRM to track member prospects through the membership sales cycle
Conducts membership presentations, articulates the member value proposition and makes recommendations on the membership materials communicating the value proposition
Creates member and future member briefings for senior staff meetings to positively influence member engagement and/or gain new members
Communicates and reports membership statistics, trends, and satisfaction to senior staff
Highlights member value through communication efforts designed to engage individual members at all levels in NRF activities
Performs other duties as assigned
Background, Skills and Abilities
Bachelor’s degree in business or related field preferred or equivalent sales experience
A minimum of five years’ experience in intangible selling or fundraising, or new business development
Experience with SalesForce CRM system
Proven ability to effectively perform in a fast-paced environment
Must be energetic and creative with strong initiative and excellent problem-solving skills
Exceptional oral and written communications abilities, as well as ability to influence and negotiate
Ability to present information to a broad range of audiences
Self-directed, goal-oriented, and the ability to work creatively and productively with colleagues
Ability to handle pressure in a deadline driven environment
Experience working with association management/membership database
