Description: Oversees the Research and Education Foundation grant administration, including application submission, grant review, grant reporting, and payment. Responsible for strategic oversight, analysis and administration of the Foundation's research and education grant and award programs. Manages solicitation of applications, review and funding for portfolio of 100 grants per year totaling $4 million. Serves as liaison to the grant-related committees and NIH-style study sections. Works closely with Senior Director and other Foundation staff members to implement these programs.
Support the Senior Director in facilitating the operational and strategic planning activities essential to meeting overall grant and award objectives of the Foundation. Develop and oversee an overall strategy and plan consistent with the policy, needs, goals, and objectives of the R&E Foundation to ensure continued growth and sustainability of the grant and award programs.
Review and analyze grant application and funding trend data to use in recommending and planning grant focused initiatives throughout the Foundation for consideration and discussion by appropriate committees and the Board of Trustees. Oversee preparation and dissemination of periodic surveys of past grant recipients. Prepare updates and reports for the Board of Trustees on all grant/award activities.
Work with the Evaluation Committee. Oversee activities of the R&E Evaluation Committee and prepare appropriate trend and survey data reports as requested.
Work with the chairs of the Medical Student Grant Review Panel, Grant Program Committee and Grant Oversight Committee in development of meeting agendas and materials, as well as to ensure proper grant/award application and selection procedures are in place and operating in an efficient and effective manner.
Manage the Research and Education Study Sections, including populating them with appropriate reviewers, matching grant applications to reviewers, overseeing the review process, and staffing the study section meetings. Keep up to date on NIH grant review and study section practices.
Oversee the administration of the Education Grant program including solicitation of grant topics on an annual basis, development of RFA's, monitoring progress of concurrent grants and milestones and working with internal RSNA staff to assess viability of the education grants for RSNA.
Oversee the day-to-day operations of the Foundation grant programs, including updates to the grant and award applications and promotional activities (grant booklet, posters, Foundation Focus, mailings, etc.), coordination of the Scholar mentoring program and updates to the website.
Oversee communications with applicants, recipients, and reviewers, including solicitation and dissemination of Interim and Final grant reports. Provide direction and feedback to prospective and current grantees, recipient institutions, and volunteers associated with the grant programs as needed.
Oversee the Roentgen Resident/Fellow Research Award program.
Prepare annual budget for grant and award programs.
Supervise R&E Foundation staff working on grant and award programs.
BS/BA or equivalent in a related field; Master's degree preferred
7 years previous experience in grants administration and monitoring
Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office and database management
Knowledge of university and federal research grant-funding policies and practices
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Excellent analytical skills and ability to understand complex information
Excellent organizational skills
