About the role
This is a key support role in the Finance Team.
Reporting to the Accounting Manager the Accounting Clerk is a support role within the Finance Team. The Accounting Clerk assists in the administration of the financial functions for the Finance Team and performs tasks with work priorities and general instruction of their manager. The Accounting Clerk will need to exercise judgement in selecting and applying established procedures correctly and in determining when to refer situations to their manager.
Monitors Zendesk for AR inquiries and resolves or distributes when appropriate
Creates/Processes membership orders
Oversees membership form requests
Supports in collections initiatives
Assists in payment application within accounting platform
Assists in AP invoice entry within accounting platform
Aids in other ad hoc financial, administrative and operational projects
This important part time role in the Finance Team provides assistance and support to the Staff Accountant, Accounts Receivable Manager, Accounting Manager and Financial Controller. The Accounting Clerk will need to be organized and have exemplary communication skills. The Accounting Clerk will be exposed to Account Payables, Accounts Receivable, Expense Reporting, and other aspects of Finance where accuracy will be essential.

The ability to track progress on initiatives and follow up on inquires
Experience in Accounting Systems is a plus (Sage Intacct would be Ideal) and Microsoft Excel
Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate clearly, simply and effectively
The ability to take and learn from direction
High level of attention to detail
About the team
The Finance Team at Crossref holds the responsibility for recording and reporting on financial transactions accurately and in a timely manner. We also have a hand in membership experience; by billing members and actively communicating with them in respect of inquires they may have about their invoices or payment options. We follow carefully crafted financial controls to ensure that our Financial Reports are robust, accurate and produced quickly enough that the information generated is still relevant. We work closely with Membership, Technology and Product Management in a variety of ways. Our goal is to provide accurate and timely information so that management can make informed decisions.
