The American Chemistry Council (ACC), a national trade association representing the world’s leading chemical and plastics manufacturers, currently has an opportunity for a Manager, Member Communications. ACC represents its members on public policy issues; coordinates the industry’s research and testing programs; and administers Responsible Care®, the industry’s environment, health, safety and security performance improvement initiative.
The position is responsible for supporting and assisting the development and execution of membership marketing and communications projects in partnership with the Office of the Chief of Staff and General Counsel. The position is also responsible for helping to maintain and service the membership ranks of the American Chemistry Council (ACC), including preparing meeting materials and presentations. The position works closely with the Membership and Business Development, as well as Meetings, Conferences and Program Development teams and reports directly to the Senior Director, Marketing and Digital Communications.
Required qualifications include Bachelor’s degree in communications, multi-media or related field and at least 5 years of relevant professional field. Strong written and oral communications skills, including the ability to give internal and public presentations, the ability to process technical, abstract verbal and written information to establish beneficial online messaging framework and implement action plans and to work independently on a variety of projects with competing tasks/priorities are a must. Two years’ experience in political or policy advocacy organization and experience managing outside vendors are preferred.
