The Coordinator, Education, will support the planning and implementation of education programs at all BIO events. Primarily this position will coordinate the call for sessions for World Congress and serve as the liaison to the Industrial & Environmental team to help facilitate the World Congress education content creation. In addition, this position supports the management of content organized by external parties at all other BIO events. They will interface with the Operations team on logistical needs related to programming for all BIO events.
Responsibilities: - Assist in the planning, development and execution for all education programs at BIO Conferences and Events
- Serve as primary liaison for the World Congress Program Committee and all conference speakers. This includes pre-submission questions, speaker notifications and keeping speakers informed of all requirements
- Serve as liaison to the Industrial & Environmental team to assist with speaker outreach and coordinate all programming for World Congress
- Coordinate the online submission tool to collect abstracts for World Congress and other BIO events
- Maintain tracking documents, speaker abstracts and pictures, and program slide decks for World Congress
- Provide on-site oversight and assistance with the program for World Congress and other BIO events
- Contribute to education program design based on industry trend analysis, including writing panel descriptions, ancillary research and panelist/company outreach for BIO events
- Write letters of invitation to conference or event speakers
- Collaborate on and edit marketing pieces highlighting conference program elements
- Organize pre-conference meetings and conference calls for panelists. Set up conference calls, coordinate with participants’ EAs, etc
- Work closely with the sales team to place sponsors and exhibitors on the program as needed at all BIO conferences
- Contribute original content to BIO’s online platforms
- Assist the Senior Manager, Education in coordinating all room set and audio-visual needs for all programs and effectively communicate these needs to the operations team
- Provide on-site administrative or customer service support at various meetings and conferences
- Provide administrative support (expense reports, travel arrangements, budget tracking etc.) as needed
Requirements: - Strong verbal and writing communications skills
- Strong research and analytic skills highly desirable
- Experience with CMS, blogging, and social media
- Microsoft environment (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Access. etc.)
- Adobe Acrobat
- College degree or equivalent years if experience
- 3+ years of related work experience
- Prior customer service and administrative assistant experience preferred
- Experience with either event organizing, writing, or editing a plus.
- Marketing experience a plus.
- Willingness to travel
