REPORTS TO: Director of Marketing LOCATION: Nationwide (Remote or Washington, D.C.)
General Scope of Responsibility The newly created Content Marketing Manager will join a high-performing organizational team of 17 full-time staff and will sit on the marketing membership team made up of three full-time professionals plus outsourced contractors/consultants/designers, located across the nation.
The Content Marketing Manager’s two primary responsibilities include the following:
Day-to-day tactical and strategic maintenance, growth and engagement of NSCS’ web and digital communications, platforms with members, prospects, alumni, parents and the community at large.
Managing and growing NSCS’s content offerings, based on channel, member preference, personas and product diversity via content aggregation, summarization, and development in partnership with outsourced writers and designers.
70%: Content sourcing Aggregating, reframing, developing (in partnership with external writers and designers), designing (with a designer) laying out, posting, formatting, deploying, measuring and reporting out. Output channels include four digital newsletters, one blog, two websites, one member portal, Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, Twitter, webinars, e-briefs, infographics and shorter-form pieces.
20%: Ad-hoc email deployment As it relates to prospect outreach to nearly one million students.
10%: Administrative duties as assigned To include leading a weekly content meeting with internal stakeholders.
*This is a marketing communications role and NOT a learning development and curriculum instruction role.
Specific Responsibilities include:
Develop, manage, deploy, analyze and respond to a company-wide digital communications, multi-channel, and content deployment calendar by quarter that supports organization’s core objectives by persona.
Engage in, manage, deploy, analyze, report out and respond to A/B testing with all newsletters, social, blog posts, webpages, etc.
Review, edit, write, format and direct design on all member content across every digital channel.
Stay up-to-date with the latest trends in email marketing, Gen Z behaviors, wants, needs, etc.
Owns all projects assigned.
5-8 years of relevant professional experience AND examples in the following:
social media management including posting, targeting, boosting and responding
writing (short content pieces/posts)
Expert awareness of Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, Instagram and WordPress.
Phenomenal project management; experience with funnel marketing/prospect journey.
Ability to interpret user data, engagement and analytics leading to sound defendable business decisions.
Ability, interest, experience and comfort with being a pioneer, including the use of new technologies/tactics/strategies/programs, etc., as well as pivoting from what has traditionally been done.
Ability to differentiate between tactics and measurable strategy whilst keeping the organizational objectives front of mind.
Experience with the following would be advantageous but not required: SEO, SEM and UX.
