The American Society of Hematology, a prestigious medical society located in downtown Washington, DC, seeks an energetic and detail-oriented Editorial Coordinator that will coordinates extensive review processes with the six-person editorial board and works closely with the publication’s Managing Editor and external publishing partners to ensure the high quality of the magazine’s content and adherence to its editorial calendar.
The Editorial Coordinator responsibilities include: Compiling and writing first draft of content for regular magazine departments, such as calendar, updates in the field, and FDA announcements; Researching and writing monthly mini features on Society news and programs; Distilling relevant news items into “Online Exclusive” articles; coordinating selection and review process, and Coordinating requests for non-author expert “Perspectives” on clinical coverage. This position will report directly to the Managing Editor, ASH Clinical News.

College degree and a minimum of three years’ editorial experience required.
Strong writing, proofreading, editing, and organizational skills required.
Experience with scientific/medical writing and editing a plus.
Proficiency with Word and MS Office required.
Must have strong attention to detail and ability to meet strict deadlines.
Must be able to handle multiple tasks in an active work environment.
Strong interpersonal skills and professionalism required.
