Turnaround Management Association (TMA) is searching for an experienced sales professional who is highly skilled in both communication and strategic skillsets to call on C-level prospects. This role will be responsible for our success in driving non-dues revenue, including expanding our sponsorship and partnership portfolio as well as facilitating the business development of our member companies.

Established in 1988 and located in downtown Chicago on Wacker Drive, TMA has nearly 10,000 members in 52 chapters worldwide, including 32 North American chapters. Members include turnaround practitioners, attorneys, accountants, advisors, liquidators, consultants, as well as academic, government employees, and members of the judiciary. What is the Opportunity?
As a Senior Staff leader, reporting to the CEO, this hands-on individual will be responsible for working with the TMA team in building relationships with TMA industry partners and drive the sale of TMA Global opportunities including conference sponsorships, advertising and other TMA products and services. More specifically they would be responsible for the following:
Meet or exceed established sales goals
Develop, maintain, and enhance relationships with the key decision makers for each partner
Support the CEO’s efforts to raise the awareness of TMA
Identify new prospects across all product lines
Set annual sponsorship, advertising, and other sales goals
Meet or exceed established sponsorship targets for the TMA Annual, TMA Distressed Investing Conference, TMA NextGen Leadership Conference and TMA NOW Summit
Promote and drive sales of the Year-Round Partnership Program
Provide support and strategic guidance for TMA chapter and regional conferences as requested
Work with appropriate staff to ensure all aspects of fulfillment are handled properly
Serve as the primary contact, with assistance from Accounts Receivable, for past due accounts to ensure timely collection
Maintain a comprehensive CRM database to track and manage prospect and customer contacts, transactions, and information
Create and disseminate pipeline reports
Industry Relations - represent TMA at other industry meetings as needed
Create and maintain effective relationships with key TMA Global volunteer leaders, chapter leaders, and chapter executives
Serve as strategic resource to all departments of TMA
What qualifications are needed?
The successful candidate would possess the following:
Bachelor’s degree required
Demonstrated ability to drive and grow revenue in sponsorship, exhibit and advertising sales
Five or more years demonstrated success and/or track record in driving and growing revenue in sponsorship, exhibit and advertising sales
Must have experience in selling to C-suite
Must have experience in managing a budget (setting goals, forecasting)
Ability to travel up to 25%
Proficient in Microsoft Office, Salesforce, strong computer knowledge and database experience
Ability to interact well with peers, staff, and volunteer leadership
Must maintain confidentiality and a high level of discretion
