SAMPE (Society for the Advancement of Material and Process Engineers), seeks an experienced manager to join our staff based in Diamond Bar, CA. The Director of Marketing, Membership, and Education is responsible for these major functional areas/projects: 1) general marketing for the association’s membership and events; 2) the creation, development, and maintenance of association websites and AMS technology; 3) handling and coordination of association membership; 4) managing the educational programming. There is some overnight travel to meetings and conferences.
Primary Responsibilities – General
Lead in the planning, development, and distribution of surveys and the analysis of responses.
Prepare and draft correspondence and updates
Coordinate and monitor work products of direct reports
Other duties related to membership and marketing as required.
Primary Responsibilities - Marketing
Create and implement marketing and communications strategies for annual conference/exhibition, workshops, and seminars
Create copy and specifications for all marketing materials. Review, edit and approve designs as applicable.
Oversee SAMPE’s social media presence (Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn)
Develop and execute partnerships/trades with sister associations and support companies.
Generate content for SAMPE eNews and Student eNews
Develop and manage targeted marketing lists – internal and external
Oversee the maintenance and development of association websites
Create and maintain event websites and pages
Primary Responsibilities - Membership
Manage chapter leader rosters, faculty adviser records, and student chapters
Works with association committees and task forces to help them carry out their project activities.
Own all membership communications including onboarding, and volunteer recruitment.
Develop and implement communications to members (renewals, welcome, benefits, updates, etc.)
Supervise deployment and follow-up of membership invoicing, approvals, and record updates.
Recruit young professionals or students to become engaged with SAMPE
Coordinate and manage SAMPE events / campus outreach /chapter events (on-site or creating an easily adaptable standard for volunteers & chapter leaders to comply)
Collaborate with vendors to conceptualize unique trade show experiences while maintaining brand look and feel.
Set-up / monitor SAMPE Awards program
Primary Responsibilities - Education
Work with association committees and staff member to produce their educational and project activities.
Desired skills and expertise include:
Bachelor’s degree and relevant work experience
Strong organizational time management skills; the ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines and manage multiple projects/priorities simultaneously
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Ability to work and manage a team environment
Experience with Microsoft Office and social media platforms
Google Analytics and SEO experience helpful
