Under the direction of the Senior Accounting Manager, the Staff Accountant will handle A/R, A/P, general accounting, expense management, month-end responsibilities, including bank reconciliations and internal reporting, and assist with the annual audit. Essential Job Functions:
Compile and analyze financial information to prepare entries to the general ledger, documenting business transactions.
Review, investigate, and correct errors and inconsistencies in financial entries, documents, and reports.
Reconcile various general ledger accounts and bank statements monthly.
Journalize transactions within the general ledger; including accounts payable, accounts receivable and all cash related transactions.
Assist customers with inquiries.
Process accounts payable, accounts receivable and purchase orders.
Lead the Accounts Receivable process from input to collection
Assist with month-end, year-end and annual audit
File receipts and back up documentation for invoices.
Maintain accurate cost spreadsheets in Excel.
Process membership dues transactions and conference registrations
File sales and non-profit tax returns.
Travel for about one week in September/October to work at our annual conference
Bachelor's degree in accounting from a four-year college or university
Strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
Meticulous attention to detail

Ability to manage and coordinate multiple projects at one time; strong organizational skills required.
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret reports, general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
Working knowledge and understanding of Microsoft Office, advanced knowledge in Excel.
Strong foundation in mathematical concepts
Ability to effectively present information and accurately respond to questions from fellow employees and members.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Prior accounting experience
Experience with Intacct Accounting System
Experience with Microsoft Excel
