The Marketing and Communications Specialist is responsible for the development and oversight of the marketing and communication plans for membership, conferences, and products, including defining objectives, identifying audiences, determining an integrated marketing mix, timeline development, execution of all deliverables, and success measurements.
The Marketing and Communications Specialist will be responsible for driving marketing communication initiatives from conception through completion in order to achieve organizational goals related to membership recruitment, retention and meeting/conference attendance with emphasis on member engagement and member value.
Oversee day-to-day marketing campaign execution and development for AHRA.
Analyze membership demographics, market data, and product/program data to develop, implement, and measure integrated marketing communications campaigns.
Monitor and report results of marketing and communications strategy to AHRA staff and leadership.
Research, write, edit, and distribute targeted and engaging content for email messaging, AHRA announcements, landing pages, brochures, and other critical communications for internal and external audiences with an increased focus on digital – video, infographics, online tools.
Collaborate with the AHRA Education Foundation to develop and deploy vendor surveys and vendor related conference deliverables.
Work closely with member services to develop and maintain AHRA membership list, including related segmentation strategies.
Manage social media accounts to grow AHRA’s social media presence and build AHRA’s digital footprint. Research and introduce new social and other new media tools and processes to the organization.
Maintain a positive relationship with various media outlets and manage press releases and media advisories.
Work in collaboration with all departments, to oversee and regularly update AHRA’s website and communication pieces to ensure alignment with strategy, consistent with identity guidelines.
Bachelor’s degree and three to five years of experience in content development and execution of marketing strategies/tactics in a nonprofit environment
Experience with the creation and curation of digital content across a wide spectrum of digital channels
Strong knowledge and understanding of digital technologies including MailChimp, Google Analytics, Adobe CC, and WordPress
Editorial mindset that seeks to understand what content audiences want to consume
Ability to analyze content performance and optimize for highest engagement
Ability to effectively utilize market segmentation in the design and execution of marketing campaigns
Membership Association/Non-profit experience preferred but not required
Must be willing to relocate
