We currently have an outstanding opportunity for a Meetings Manager to join the Events team in our New York office.
In your role at ASME you will be responsible for managing 30+ Society meetings annually, which range in size from 50-900 and are held in North America, South America, Europe, and Asia. Responsibilities will include site selection and contract negotiations; budgeting and monthly accruals; conference web-site management; marketing liaison; all pre-conference logistical planning, which includes sleeping room block management, menu selection, and audio visual management, special events, guest tours, conference registration management, hiring of temporary staff and equipment, coordination of conference giveaways, and compilation and preparation of final program; on-site management; billing reconciliation; and post-conference management.
The position requires a bachelor’s degree, minimum of 5-10 years of meeting planning experience, plus experience with hotel and supplier contracts. The incumbent must possess excellent organizational, task management, prioritization, proof reading and communication skills. Experience with hotel and supplier contracts is a must. Association experience is a plus. The ability to travel is also required.
