NAHB is seeking a Field Specialist to support affiliated home building associations (HBAs). The Field Specialist will help build stronger and more efficient local and state associations by providing onsite assistance and resources focused on best practices in association operations and program execution. The Field Specialist will represent the national association and must be able to generally maintain a moderate to heavy travel schedule.

General Duties and Responsibilities

• Consult with state and local HBAs to enhance efficiencies and operations with a focus on benchmarking and improving non-dues revenue programs such as Parade of Homes, Home Shows and general events.
• Assist HBAs with putting in place best practices to govern internal programs and processes.
• Work with staff and leadership to establish newly chartered associations as well as provide short-term support to HBAs in distress.
• Provide thought leadership on helping HBAs better showcase value to members.
• Advise and help HBA leadership with the new Executive Officer search process as requested. Provide limited operational support for HBAs experiencing turnover or distress as needed.
• Connect HBA staff and members to NAHB staff for key matters, conduct on-site programs for HBA staff and leadership aimed at strengthening the local association, and travel to local HBAs as requested to provide specialty programs to address specific HBAs’ needs.
