The Building Owners and Managers Association (BOMA) International, a trade association representing the commercial real estate industry, seeks an energetic and experienced professional to join our busy Education & Meetings division in downtown Washington, D.C., near Metro. The Director of Conference Programs is responsible for developing education content for two large annual conferences and other BOMA seminars. The position reports to the Vice President, Education & Meetings.
Develop and deliver education programs for two (2) large annual conferences
Work with volunteers, staff, and other resources to research and identify pertinent topics and speakers
Serve as primary liaison to education program committees
Manage the Call for Presentations and review process for selection of sessions and speakers
Manage speaker and instructor agreements and logistics
Create speaker and learner assessment mechanisms and gather and analyze speaker and attendee feedback
Maintain BOMA’s approved provider status with various certification bodies and submit sessions for CEU qualification
Work with BOMA’s marketing firm on the strategic promotion of conference education to ensure the campaign reflects the proper messaging and deadlines for deliverables are met
Negotiate agreements and manage relationships with BOMA’s education technology providers, assuring that services are satisfactorily rendered
Identify and manage relationships with subject matter experts, training organizations, counterparts with other CRE industry organizations and other strategic partners for BOMA conference education
Manage BOMA’s Webinar program and support other education initiatives as needed
Provide managerial oversight, guidance and direction to the Education Coordinator
Bachelor’s degree and minimum of 3 years of experience developing, delivering and evaluating professional development programs, preferably in an association environment. Knowledge of the commercial real estate industry a plus.
Experience working with subject matter experts, volunteers and managing committees
Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills
Must have strong collaboration and project management skills with attention to detail
Must be proficient with Microsoft Office applications and experienced using learning management systems, proposal submission modules, webinar platforms and CRM databases
Experience and understanding of how to market professional development and conference programs preferred
Must be able to travel when required for on-site management of conference education programs
