We are a highly-regarded, mission driven, non-profit organization is in search of a self-directed and experienced Accounting Coordinator to oversee all financial and accounting activities.
This position is anticipated to be a part-time position requiring between 15 – 22.5 hours per week. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintenance of the accounting general ledger, day-to-day activities of the accounting department, month and year-end close procedures, and working with our outside CPA firm. This position will report directly to the Executive Director.
Job Responsibilities and Duties:
Actively participate in the day-to-day operations and maintenance of the company’s accounting system, including accounts payable, cash disbursements, dues and corporate contributions billing and collection, and maintenance of the general ledger system.
Strong compliance with policies, procedures and internal controls for the accounting department.
Responsible for month end and year end closing procedures.
Monitor compliance with revenue restriction criteria.
Job Qualifications and Skills:
Associates or Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting.
Minimum of 2 years accounting experience—non-profit work experience is a plus.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Ability to work closely with a senior management team.
Previous experience with QuickBooks.
Additional Salary Information: This is a part-time position and will be paid on an hourly basis.
