The Content and Campaign Specialist will be responsible for external-facing content and campaigns for one of the four key areas: teachers, principals, administrators, and institutions. Will work with the Creative team to develop all content marketing assets and graphic components for multi-channel campaigns. This position will incorporate a multitude of modern marketing techniques, including email nurturing, paid social campaigns, and targeted programmatic/retargeting campaigns across the 6 key channels currently utilized by ASCD: email, direct mail, advertising, events, web/SEO, and social media. The Content and Campaign Specialist reports to the Director, Engagement Marketing, and works with the communications, creative, and events teams to drive an integrated brand experience for all audiences, especially the educator journey from prospect to advocate.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Ultimately, the job of the Content and Campaign Specialist is to sustain branding and persona relational efforts across each key audience. This is an entrepreneurial position focused on developing content for the intent of connecting and driving engagement with each key persona. Primary responsibilities include content creation, persona, and journey mapping, and social media content/campaign management for members and non-members.
Will be responsible for content marketing and campaign assets, both in messaging and overall look/feel.
Collaboratively work with the Creative team on graphic components to convey audience messaging.
Prepare, write, and edit copy specific to educator audiences.
Developing compelling content marketing assets to be used in multi-channel in/outbound campaigns.
Assess the success of the content within campaigns and use data to make recommendations for future campaigns.
Coordinate the development of campaigns and provide content strategy recommendations for renewal campaigns.
Provide content assets for marketing campaigns, as well as test and analyze content performance.
Collect, analyze and report on content marketing success via standard content marketing-related KPIs, using web analytics tools, marketing automation platforms, and social media management tools to inform and optimize ongoing content marketing and campaign efforts.
Accountable for content creation, social media management, and campaign support.
A bachelor’s degree in marketing or related field preferred.
Knowledge of the education field, including education policy and other current issues, is preferred.
Knowledge of web-based technology and demonstrated the use of social media networks including tools for research, analysis, and targeted communications.
Experience creating digital content and growing a social audience
Ability to understand what the educator audiences need and how to create it in the most effective manner
Ability to work efficiently and independently, managing multiple deadlines at once
Ability to complete projects with minimal supervision
Proficient in Microsoft Office

The Content and Campaign Specialist requires a combination of marketing and client success mindset, with the most important aspect being to think “educator first.” In essence, the Content and Campaign Specialist is responsible for the content marketing and campaign strategy and execution for the ASCD brand. You will write and execute sales and marketing content. Specific skills required include:
Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
The ability to work cross-collaborative across the organization, including the marketing, sales, and creative departments.
2-3 years of experience in editorial writing experience; marketing and sales experience a plus.
Extreme attention to detail with respect to writing accuracy, grammatical correctness, etc.
Normal demands associated with a deadline-driven office environment.
The noise level is generally quiet to moderate.
Daily contact with external customers, vendors, colleagues, associates, supervisors, and staff at all levels of the organization.
Ability to remain at a desk for extended periods of time.
Ability to communicate and exchange information with others.
