The Executive Director is an integral part of the EWF executive leadership team. Responsible for the oversight and daily management of the EWF, as well as driving and supporting the overall attainment, engagement, and satisfaction of current and future EWF Members, Corporate Benefactors, and Sponsors.
The EWF Executive Director will be a deeply experienced and credible leader, influencer, innovator, and collaborator who can drive alignment, results, and systemic change in our mission-driven organization. This leader will bring inspiration, energy, transparency, and a “servant leader” approach as they work with the EWF team to create and advance the EWF’s strategic growth, impact, and success.
In partnership with the CEO and executive team, develop short- and long-term strategies for the growth of the organization globally.
Establish a sound organization structure for the communication of information, program updates, and adherence to timelines and goals between Marketing, Member Engagement, COO, Conference Management, Leadership Development, and CEO.
Develop, implement, and oversee the formation of Steering Committees and working groups to enhance and showcase the thought leadership of the EWF and its members.
Utilize business and data analytics, market research and the creation of surveys to understand member and sponsor needs and to perform competitive analysis.
Engage in the creation of marketing and communication strategies and initiatives and serve as the project manager in ensuring that initiatives, campaigns, newsletters, promotions, etc., are all cohesive and rolling out on schedule.
Management & Operations
Plans, organizes, leads, and coordinates the staff, programs, and activities of the EWF to assure that objectives are attained, goals fulfilled, and member needs met.
Work closely with the CEO to manage and engage the Board of Advisors and support committees.
Obtains maximum utilization of staff by establishing performance standards and providing detailed and regular feedback to the CEO to conduct performance reviews.
Works with team to plan, organize and direct membership promotion and sponsorship acquisition and retention programs, evaluate results, and recommend policies, procedures and actions to achieve membership and growth goals.
Delegates strategic objectives to the whole team with clear and explicit intent and calls upon team members to contribute to the best of their ability; focuses on the team’s growth and development as a group and as individuals.
Collaborate with the Director of Membership Engagement and Diversity and Inclusion to develop and execute external events and practices that honor our diversity mission and reflect EWF’s values and culture.
Works closely with the Chair of the EWF Annual Conference and is responsible for overseeing the planning, managing, and delivering virtual, live, and hybrid conferences, regional meetings, and other EWF programs and events.
Collaboration & Influence
Work with EWF Corporate Benefactors to engage them in EWF offerings and maintain support.
Maintains effective relationships with other public and private organizations to build productive partnerships and extend EWF membership, sponsorship, influence, and access.
Engages and galvanizes trusted relationships with members and sponsors.
Serves as a credible and compelling spokesperson before the media, current and prospective members, Ambassadors, Champions, and advocacy organizations.
Articulates the EWF’s value in a thorough yet concise way that compels new and existing members and sponsors to stay – or become – invested and engaged.
Serve as the face of the organization and actively participate in external events, both increasing visibility, credibility, and brand in the market.
Qualifications and Competencies:

Must have a track record of building effective relationships with people of influence and willing to be hands on, in developing and expanding organizational capacities and services.
Successful candidates possess strong interpersonal, communication and leadership skills and demonstrate passion and purpose in ways that enlist others and create followership.
While Corporate driven membership experience is preferred, we invite interest from leaders who have demonstrated successes in serving as an effective spokesperson, developing innovative programs for members, and sponsors, and providing exceptional leadership for a service-focused organization.
Proven senior executive leadership experience:
Has held direct accountability for driving the success, growth, and financial sustainability of an organization of comparable scale, scope, and complexity; leadership experience in a membership organization context is preferred.
Ability to manage and interact with the volunteer Board of Advisors.
Expert problem-solving skills as demonstrated by the ability to think strategically and innovatively, to continuously improve the organization.
Proven experience in strategically managing simultaneous projects and delivering on deadlines.
Ability to support and manage strategic operations, establish, and maintain cooperative relationships with partners, and influence direct and indirect reports.
Revenue growth experience:
Experience driving substantial revenue growth from both current and new revenue streams.
Experience in creating and driving revenue from memberships, conferences, webinars, thought leadership content and leadership development initiatives.
Passion for the Advancement of Women and Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion
Ability to further the EWF’s mission to engage, develop and advance women leaders.
Ability to deliver measurable results and business impact to our Corporate Benefactors and Sponsors from successfully partnering with the EWF as part of their broader organizational strategy.
