Basic Responsibilities: Researches and writes communications designed to keep leadership, local boards and members informed about New Mexico Association of REALTORS(R) (NMAR) activities and real estate matters of statewide significance. Utilizes technology-based tools to communicate information. This position reports to the CEO of the NMAR.
Communication and Publications
Directs activities designed to keep NMAR constituencies (officers, directors, committee leadership and members, board elected officers, board executive officers and the general membership) abreast of legislative, legal and technology issues as well as NMAR activities, services and benefits via the production of various member publications (REALTOR® Voice, Online News, New Member Brochure, Legal Hotline brochure, New Member Orientation video).
Researches, writes, creates communications in Constant Contact; tests, and distributes
Writes content based on research; incorporate finding into future newsletters. Researches and collects information to include making sure all required notices (per bylaws) are included in a timely manner.
Researches, designs, creates layout, edits, writes articles for CEO and president; distributes to membership as necessary.
Writes monthly Housing Stats release; distributes to media; posts on nmrealtor.com
Distributes press releases, position and white papers, etc., for local boards to promote legislative issues.
With the Marketing Director, creates an annual communication plan and posts news on NMAR website and Facebook page.
With the Marketing Director, designs, writes, and distributes all-member emails as needed.
Writes NMAR President’s letters for the Region XI newsletters. Collects photos for inclusion, writes talking points for meetings.
Develops press releases and maintains contact with local boards on a regular basis to promote the Association’s advocacy and community outreach efforts.
Works closely with Marketing Director to create graphics and promote NMAR events, programs, services.
Updates RANM Leadership Manuals yearly.
Provides administrative and logistical staff support to NMAR’s various committees; works with chair to create meeting agenda; obtains meeting location; sends out meeting notices; prepares and distributes agenda packets; takes notes at meetings and prepares minutes; gathers background material as directed by the chair/committee; advises committee members on NMAR’s policies and procedures.
Maintains NMAR Governing Documents making sure current versions are posted on website.
Facilitates and hosts Growth and Involvement class sessions.
Creates and posts application forms for elected offices.
Prepares installations scripts for installing officers, keeps record of local member boards installation dates, times and locations.

A college degree (communications, publications, public relations, marketing preferred) and four (4) years of field experience, skilled in planning and organizing special events; skilled in communications and public relations; able to handle multiple priorities; capable of working with a minimal amount of staff support; able to operate a variety of complex computer software programs, including desk top publishing; database software and Adobe design suite.
