Washington, DC based association management firm seeks highly motivated Associate to provide HR and Operations support for the company and clients. This position requires general knowledge/experience in a range of Human Resources areas (i.e. benefits; onboarding/offboarding; employee relations; HRIS management) as well as office management functions (working with vendors, building management). Provide support to the Vice President, Human Resources, Director of Operations and CFO
Assist in day to day HR and operations tasks of AMS and clients
Provide confidential management of employee records, payroll and benefits including recording financial entries and managing payroll contributions and benefits
Manage HRIS system for AMS and clients
Liaise with vendors for benefit management, program management and operations management
Work with Director of Operations on management of AMS office space and working with staff, tenants and building management on issues related to the space
Manage office supplies for the facility and team
Coordinate AMS staff meetings and events and provide support to the management team for these meetings
Facilitate employee recruitment for AMS and clients
Support onboarding/offboarding of AMS employees and clients
Perform various special projects
Work with Director of Operations and VP, Human Resources on corporate projects and task forces and to deliver the goals of AMS’s Five-Year plan
Bachelor’s degree, HR, operations or related field preferred
A minimum of three years’ experience in association/non-profit HR and/or operations required
Proficiency with BambooHR or other Human Resource Information System preferred
Ability to interact professionally, confidentially and effectively with varying levels of employees, clients and vendors required
Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) required
Skilled in acting with discretion on personnel, corporate and financial matters required
Detail oriented with strong organizational skills required
Ability to operate independently and as a team required
Comfortable in a fast-paced environment and able to manage multiple projects successfully required
Demonstrated problem-solving capabilities and resourceful under pressure required
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) required
Strong technical skills and ability to work with IT systems (such as Harvest and payroll processing systems) preferred
There is no travel expected for this position.
This is a largely sedentary position that requires the ability to speak, hear, see and lift small objects up to 30 lbs.
