POSITION SUMMARY (Short summary of the essential purpose of the job)
The Membership Associate supports the membership function. The position executes membership tasks, such as management of the online membership community, primary customer service agent and maintains the membership database. In addition, this position is responsible for registration for all events. This position works to engage with SPSP members to support SPSP’s mission.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (Duties that occupy a major portion of time and importance in the job)
Support the development and implementation of member recruitment, member onboarding, and annual membership marketing and renewal planning.
Assist with the design and distribution of communications to announce and promote member programs throughout the year.
Serve as the primary contact for the Connect! Community (moderate, engage, and update)
Serve as the primary contact for staff with requests in the membership database (includes, pulling reports, updating records, and training).
Process SPSP Hardship Dues Waiver.
Membership account maintenance and data checks in the membership database (communicating with members about abandoned shopping cart items, remove duplicate accounts, ensuring that members have chosen the most appropriate membership category).
Manage and prepare subscription lists for three SPSP journals.
Manage and prepare distribution lists for e-mail blasts.
Assist with SPSP Store merchandise creation, fulfilment and promotion.
Support staff with member engagement activities such as working with committees to accomplish their responsibilities.
Manage the registration process for all SPSP events; includes setting up the registration system in NOAH, providing reports with required data and customer service to attendees.
Customer Service: 20%
Support the finance team with depositing checks
Provide customer service to members via phone, SnapEngage messaging system, and the SPSP Info and SPSP membership inbox.

Associate degree or at least 2 years’ experience in a similar position.
Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology, Communications, Marketing, or Business Management.
Yrs and type
Internship or college experience working in an office setting.
Minimum of one year of prior related experience working within a membership services department at an association.

Demonstrated commitment to enhancing diversity of people and ideas in the field of social psychology and personality psychology
Knowledge of Microsoft Office products.
Knowledge of Association Management Information Systems (preferably NOAH); Microsoft Teams, Informz, HigherLogic.
