Conference Incorporated, a 35+-year old firm located in Reston, VA providing association, convention, trade show, special event management services, is looking for an individual to be part of a management team responsible for all activities related to event planning for CI’s clients. The type of events ranges from meetings, conferences, trade shows and special events.
The ideal candidate is flexible, have a desire to have a career in event management, be able to handle several projects and have strong customer-service skills. The individual would report to a Lead Project Manager and work on several client event projects (some corporate and some not-for-profit). Meetings and events range in size from as small as 30 people to 5,000+ attendee conference.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to
Take the lead to learn, setup and manage client registration platforms (CVent and EventRebels)
Provide customer service to client registrants
Generate requested reports
Work with Project Manager to develop onsite registration process
Manage registration details including, badges, tickets, ribbons, etc.
Assist Project Manager on logistical details for a variety of client projects
Participate in the planning meetings
Perform other duties as assigned
2+ years’ experience in the meeting planning industry – previous experience with an association or membership organization a plus
Like working with details
Excellent communication skills
Experience with working registration platform or at least a working knowledge
Must be organized
Strong proof-reading, oral and written communication skills
Understand the value of accurate data and reporting processes
Excellent organizational skills
Have good time management skills
Comfortable working independently and in a team environment
Must be proficient with Word and Excel
Must be available for travel (approximately 25%), some evenings and weekends
