The Manager/Sr. Manager of Educational Content plays a critical role in ensuring the success of programs by working collaboratively with staff, committees, speakers, and others throughout the year. The Manager/Senior Manager is responsible for development, planning, executing, and evaluating the association’s educational programs. This position is responsible for ensuring that ILTA consistently delivers valuable educational programming and professional development opportunities to its membership.
ILTA offers a suite of educational programming including an annual conference, monthly industry calls, webinars, workshops, post-conference training, and guest speakers at meetings of the Environment, Health, Safety, and Security Committee. The Manager/Senior Manager serves as the staff executive for the Conference Planning Committee and the Terminal Operating Practices Symposium (TOPS) Steering Committee.
Duties and Responsibilities
Lead efforts to develop curriculum and content for all educational events offered by the association and manage the production schedule.
Research industry trends through trade press articles, observing topics of sessions and webinars sponsored by competing or similar organizations, and ongoing dialogue with membership.
Explore opportunities for partnership and collaboration with other associations or stakeholder groups.
Identify, recruit, and schedule speakers for conference sessions, monthly industry calls, webinars, and committee meetings.
Direct annual Call for Proposal process for both the annual conference and TOPS; facilitate committees’ work in reviewing and selecting proposals; notify selected speakers.
Oversee collection of accurate and complete speaker information, session descriptions, and similar information.
Negotiate and manage contracts with speakers, instructors, or partnering organizations.
Collaborate with the event planning staff on logistics.
Under direction of the Senior Director of Membership and Marketing, assist in marketing of educational events.
Work with sales and marketing consultants to identify opportunities for sponsorships for educational events.
Oversee post-event surveys including trade show exhibitor survey, trade show attendee survey, and conference attendee survey.
Collect and analyze participant evaluations to ensure on-going quality of all instructors and guest speakers. Conduct regular feedback sessions with instructors to improve the participant experience.
Continually evaluate opportunities for improvement.
Travel to industry conferences and seminars as directed.
Perform occasional “custodial or housekeeping” tasks when required to ensure a quality experience for event attendees/members.

Experience with education development, curriculum design, training methodologies, and online and face-to-face education.

Previous experience in a professional membership or trade association preferred.
Demonstrated experience with MS Office Suite and ability to learn new software tools.
