Position Purpose & Responsibilities: NHA is hiring a Content Development Specialist to write and edit content for the industry media platform POWERHOUSE and for social media platforms. The specialist also will assist in speaker recruitment and speaker management for NHA’s national events.

Responsibilities include:

• Week-by-Week Content Development for POWERHOUSE:
  • Solicit articles
  • Write/edit articles
  • Manage weekly AI feed
  • Find Company Announcements
  • Work with communications staff assistant to build email and review web pages
  • Post articles on social media

• Social Media Posting on a sustained (daily) basis:
  • To create a sustained presence in the broader (beyond waterpower) clean energy audiences, especially with millennials, the Content Development Specialist will contribute toward a sustained presence by NHA in the clean energy conversation on social media
  • Write, post, respond, and contribute daily to social media conversations

• Content Development for National Events:
  • Assisting in topic selection
  • Writing session descriptions
  • Speaker Research
  • Speaker Recruitment
  • Database/website management – adding speakers to databases, soliciting photographs

Ideal Candidate Will Have:

• Experience in writing, editing, social media posting, and/or conference session development;
• Knowledge of energy issues required, with waterpower experience preferred;
• Detailed, deadline-driven, self starter, quick learner;
• Team player - willingness to work on teams and with members of the association; and
• Preference is the position is based in Washington, D.C.
