NTEA – The Association for the Work Truck Industry seeks a director of business systems responsible for defining, developing and managing company systems, system enhancements, software implementations, report development, and end-user experience. This pivotal position will work across multiple organizational levels to identify key issues, assess options, and propose system changes, upgrades and reporting to maximize operational efficiency.

Employee: Local preferred (eligible for hybrid schedule); would consider remote
Travel: Dependent on location; up to 5–7 weeks per year if remote, less if local
Summary
The Director of Business Systems will work across multiple organizational levels to identify key issues; assess options; and propose system changes, upgrades and reporting to maximize operational efficiency. The ability to provide both a long-term vision for the evolution of technology platforms and day-to-day practical solutions will be vital. Position will be responsible for defining, developing and managing company systems, system enhancements, software implementations, report development, and end-user experience. Also responsible for development and documentation of all policies and procedures as well as user training.
Qualifications
- Broad business and technical knowledge, with the business acumen required to connect people, processes, and tools to achieve strategic goals
- Ability to interview individuals and groups about their needs and ask the right questions to surface essential requirements information
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with internal business units and outside partners
- Ability to communicate complex system and process issues in simple and understandable terms and to use this knowledge to deliver analysis to support strategic decisions
- Experience with data modeling and databases such as MS SQL Server, Oracle, MySQL, DB2, MS Access, etc.
- Ability to automate common database and application tasks; troubleshoot technical problems; and research potential solutions by working with vendors, online resources, and other subject matter experts
- Ability to improve performance, scalability, and stability of databases and application processes
- Experience with data management and governance
- Microsoft BI, Tableau or other BI tool development experience
- Proficiency with Excel, including advanced features
- Experience with visualization design methodology

Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in information technology, computer science or similar discipline (required)
- 5–7 years of program management, software implementation, or business consulting experience in at least one of the core areas described
- Strong understanding of technology and system integrations

Responsibilities
- This position will play an important role in documentation, project planning and strategic analysis support, and will have a strong background and experience in supporting business processes, data analysis, software integrations, and CRMs
- Become a trusted advisor and partner with one or more business units, providing support, guidance and training around technical solutions
- Identify core operational issues and propose new work streams, application solutions, and process improvements for core business units
- Collaborate in the planning, design, development and deployment of new enhancements to existing applications
- Effectively perform demos of new functionality, explaining business goals and process changes to support stakeholders in executing user acceptance testing
- Responsible for data hygiene, and maintaining data accuracy and integrity through merging duplicate leads and performing mass data uploads and updates
- Fulfill ad-hoc reporting requests and identify opportunities for improvement
Additional responsibilities
- Work closely with business areas across the enterprise to improve technology use, identify technology needs and assess requirements
- Serve as technology project lead for enterprise system selections and implementations
- Serve as a technology resource for internal business systems, including iMIS, NTEA’s association management system
- Lead collection of data reporting and visualization requirements; use business intelligence and database skills to generate and modify reports to user specifications
- Support organization-wide data governance, and maintain a data glossary, data purging and verification
- Act as a key contact for disaster recovery
