POSITION SUMMARY

The Meetings and Education Manager provides support to the Director of Meetings & Education and assists with planning, implementing, and executing continuing education programs and social events, including meeting preparation, registration processing, post-meeting activities, recordkeeping, and on-site meeting assistance. The Meetings and Education Manager also has primary duties related to accrediting outside organization educational programs, managing the education reporting program, updating the MPA website with event details, and serving as a committee liaison.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

At the direction of the Director of Meetings & Education, the Meetings & Education Manager will assist in all functions of planning and executing numerous educational events and programs, including but not limited to:

• All member phone calls & emails re: PCE.
• Send home study CE purchased articles & certificates.
• Distribute, collect, follow up with program speakers for all necessary program documentation.
• Faculty agreements, CVs, headshots, presentations, posttest questions, expense reports.
• Create CE program promos and flyers.
• Joint Providership program lead/owner/manager.
• Lecture Panda Manager – create all program content for all PCE programs (with assistant from specialist) – Joint Providership & MPA programs.
• MSHP Educational Affairs liaison/lead on programming.
• Assist Director with meeting details as assigned.
• MPA website updates for program content/event calendar.
• Assist other MPA departments as necessary.

Qualifications

Registration, certification, and or licensure required: Driver’s license

Experience

Prior association experience preferred. Must be proficient with Microsoft Office products. Excellent organizational skills needed and must be capable of managing multiple tasks at one time. Problem-solving abilities and decision-making skills are required. Must be able to work independently, maintain confidentiality and take the initiative when needed.

Work Schedule

Flexible schedule is necessary. This position is a 36.25-hour work week and may require additional hours if needed to complete assigned tasks. The Meetings and Education Manager is expected to attend multiple events throughout the year and perform all duties and responsibilities as assigned for these events.

Position may require heavy lifting as it relates to job functions and use of personal vehicle.

Education and/or Training

High school diploma or G.E.D. requirement with at least two years’ experience in an office environment.

Associate degree in a related field. (Bachelor’s degree preferred)
