Position summary
SIR is a rapidly growing medical society, and we are excited to be expanding our Member Program and Services Division with the new role of Clinical Education Program Manager. In this role, you will work with the society’s clinical experts and volunteers to identify the educational needs of our members. This exciting new position will be instrumental in developing new learning opportunities, initiatives, and/or programs positioned to enhance and grow the society’s educational offerings and increase opportunities for non-dues revenue. This highly collaborative position will work across all clinical specialty councils, sections, divisions, and departments to provide guidance and oversight for SIR’s portfolio of educational offerings. The ideal candidate will possess strong stakeholder relations skills along with knowledge of best practices in the clinical education arena.
Essential functions and responsibilities
- Works collaboratively with and provides guidance to clinical specialty councils, sections, committees, and staff to identify topic areas to target along with the best educational approach to support the development of learning opportunities, initiatives, and/or programs using instructional design and delivery best practices.
- Collaborates with the Director, Education Products & Services, and the Senior Manager, Online Education, to design, implement and oversee the execution of education programs. This includes the program budget, revenue tracking, expense management, and analysis of program success.
- Serve as education project manager and staff liaison to volunteer groups interested in developing education, both virtual and in-person, to plan and execute successful programs; program types include but are not limited to in-person meetings, live webinars, virtual meetings, and curriculum-based online education.
- Collaborates with internal cross-departmental teams to ensure timely and successful completion of all activities and deliverables:
- Works with the marketing team to develop meeting graphics and robust marketing plans to increase awareness of programs and ensure timely and appropriate marketing efforts to help to achieve participation.
- Supports the meetings team on in-person event logistics and faculty accommodation.
- In collaboration with the corporate relations team works to ensure support and advertising opportunities are appropriately executed in accordance with the ACCME Standards of Integrity and Independence for programs receiving corporate support.
- Collaborates with the Senior Manager, Online Education to set up and deliver activities through the learning management system and/or other educational platforms.
- Oversees speaker/contributor management to ensure timelines and content deliveries are met and appropriate documentation is collected.
- Oversees maintenance and updates to content for program websites, SIR education sites, and anywhere information about programs is posted.
- Routinely evaluates the effectiveness and content accuracy of educational offerings and provides recommendations for future enhancements, design improvements, and technology interface changes.
- Demonstrates expertise and engages team members in the principles and compliance with ACCME accreditation requirements and standards. Responsible for maintaining accreditation documentation and requirements for educational activities.
- Oversees the customer service and user feedback processes for assigned activities and identifies areas for improvement based on customer feedback.
Secondary functions and responsibilities
- Maintains information for Program and Activity Reporting System (PARS) and Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) Reporting.
- Provide education customer support for all other education products and services including general CME/SA-CME or certificate retrieval requests.
- Support the Director, Education Products & Services with the development and implementation of new projects and/or initiatives, as needed.
- Participation in occasional evening conference calls and/or webinars
- Ability to travel to meetings and other activities related to the position
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Proactive, team-centered, organized, detail-oriented, self-motivated, and able to set, manage and meet priorities under quickly changing conditions.
- Three to five progress responsibility for management and administration of education programs, including curriculum development and demonstrated knowledge of adult learning theory and instructional design best practices.
- Experience with a healthcare-related association preferred
- Experience in developing continuing medical education and knowledge of ACCME requirements.
- Strong customer orientation in working with volunteers and volunteer management in the creation of content.
- Experience with association management systems (AMS), learning management system (LMS) platforms, and webinar platforms preferred.
- Strong interpersonal/communication skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, Outlook, SharePoint, and Internet applications.
- Ability to work independently on projects and meet deadlines consistently.
Education
- Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent experience
