HollandParlette is an association management company (AMC) with offices in San Francisco and Indianapolis and provide full-service management to 17 professional associations, including membership, marketing & communications, meetings & conferences, operations and strategic planning.
HollandParlette is currently seeking a dynamic individual to serve as an Executive Director/Account Manager with our San Francisco team. This role would serve as a lead staff person overseeing the delivery of service and staff assignments for 2 client partners and co-direct on a third association. A successful candidate will have experience leading people and working with volunteer leaders.
Candidates should have prior experience in non-profit and/or association management, either as an executive director or senior staff leading a significant program for an association or association management company. Candidates should be able to provide high-level account management for several client partners while managing a team delivering the day-to-day services for the association.
Serve as an account manager for several HollandParlette association partners, maintaining positive relationships with volunteer leadership
Coordinate resources (both internal and external) required to meet the needs of the client
Fiscal responsibility for all client activities, budget preparation, explanation, and development
Supervise the day-to-day administrative functions of the association and staff,
Provide coaching and mentorship for staff assigned to accounts
Ensure staff are adhering to company policy and client processes
Partner with the client volunteer leadership to ensure ongoing meetings of the client leadership board and prepare agendas / materials for these meetings
Provide ongoing guidance to the client board to ensure ongoing progress towards the strategic plan of the association
Plan, support, and attend client meetings, signature events, and conferences, both in the Bay Area and statewide
Execute contracts, agreements, and commitments for and on behalf of Associations.
Oversee the corporate responsibilities of the associations (taxes, non-profit applications, bylaws, etc.)
Oversee financial activities, including payment of invoices, budget preparation, monthly financial records, annual audit, etc.
Participate in monthly management meetings with company owner and other SF-based Account Executives
Effective written and verbal communications and ability to communicate well with all levels both within and outside the organization
Prior experience serving in an Executive or Senior Staff level position within a non-profit organization or Association
Extensive Microsoft Office Experience
Association management software and/or database management experience
Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet required deadlines
Well-developed interpersonal skills
Ability to make clear, concise, and effective presentations
Strong understanding of managing finances
5+ years in Association Management
Bachelor’s Degree or other equal professional experiences
Position allows for primarily remote work with constant communication with team members via virtual means (Zoom and Slack). There will also be a requirement for in-person attendance and preparation for client events approximately 1-2 times per month. Candidates who live in the San Francisco Bay Area are preferred, however we will consider qualified candidates who live outside the area, could work and effectively manage teams remotely and able to travel to in-person client events in the Bay Area as necessary.
