NAHB is seeking a building industry professional to join NAHB’s advocacy efforts to improve the performance and advance the affordability of residential construction in the U.S. The primary focus of this position is on energy solutions, green construction practices, and sustainability in single-family and multifamily buildings. The position offers a unique opportunity to work at the nexus of policy, advocacy, and building technology across a wide range of industry forums and engaging with a broad spectrum of industry stakeholders.
This individual will work on implementation of energy policies and strategies in jurisdictions around country to support deployment of federal and state incentive programs. This individual will also represent NAHB at various codes and standards development committees and conduct critical analyses of proposed changes to building codes and standards.
This position is also responsible for assisting NAHB members, committees, and staff with technical issues related to residential construction methods and practices. Other responsibilities include preparing and/or presenting articles, status updates, webinars, and other related materials. Applicants must be able to review and understand legislative and regulatory information related to building codes, material/design standards, product specifications, and offer solutions.
We are looking for individuals with a minimum of 3 years of experience related to building design and/or construction. Experience with building codes and standards development, code enforcement, above-code programs, and/or construction costs are preferred. Experience with state or federal incentive programs is a plus. A bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction management, material science, or architecture, or equivalent in education and experience, is required.
