The AOBA Educational Foundation (AEF) is a 501 C 3 organization focused on promoting careers in building engineering. The Managing Director (MD), under the direction of the Board of Directors, provides organizational leadership and ensures alignment with the strategic direction of the Foundation. The MD will focus primarily on networking and outreach efforts to promote commercial building engineering and multi-family maintenance careers. In order to execute the Foundation’s mission, the MD will have the following responsibilities:
Marketing & Communication
Maintain existing relationships with career partners, such as area high schools, trade schools, community colleges, workforce development entities, military transition organizations, etc.
Develop industry engagement with the Foundation through an established website including career information, links to education partners in the field, and a job board where industry jobs can be posted, periodic newsletters and annual report that summarizes the organizations accomplishments and recognizes financial donors.
Create and manage content for social media platforms, website and printed materials.
Publicize the activities of the organization, it’s impact and goals.
Effectively represent the Foundation in public settings, to include presentations to current and potential donors and speaking opportunities that increase the Foundation’s visibility.
Promote educational opportunities provided by strategic partners.
Fund Development, Budget and Finance
Oversee a scholarship fund.
Develop and track proposals and reporting for all Foundation, government and corporate fundraising programs.
Work alongside area businesses to develop or be included in existing Corporate giving/Corporate match programs.
Work with the board on developing the annual budget.
Develop and implement short and long-term planning that ensures adequate funds are available to permit the organization to carry out its mission.
Network and solicit contributions to the Foundation.
Work with accounting to ensure financial oversight and compliance.
Work with legal to ensure administrative oversight and compliance.
The successful candidate will:
Be a Visionary, capable of translating concepts in to results.
Be confident and a natural communicator.
Understand SEO best practices and landing page optimization.
Be able to use analytics to measure results of marketing strategies.
Have experience with Brand Messaging and Storytelling.
Be familiar with design and collateral development.
Be able to develop and implement a social media strategy.
Have the ability to manage multiple, ongoing projects.
Be proficient in MS Word, Excel, and Power Point.
Can work across a range of platforms and tools while applying multiple disciplines.
Provide staff support for Board functions, including Board meetings and Governance matters.
Be self-motivated and be able to work independently at the direction of a Board of Directors.
