General Position Summary:As an organizational leader, the Accounting Manager contributes to the development of RE+ Events strategic goals and culture and relies on broad experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. This position is responsible for managing daily operations of the G&A department including supervisory responsibilities and financial reporting for RE+ Events. The Accounting Manager manages compliance of Human Resource function and payroll administration.
Supervises accounts receivable and payable while maintaining the banking and vendor relationships.
Manages the month-end and year-end financial close process and financial package preparation. Reviews all asset, liability, and revenue account reconciliations.
Administers payroll.
Responsible for employment and tax filings and compliance for all Federal, state, and local laws.
Evaluates the efficiency of internal control systems and makes changes as needed to prevent fraud or any illegal activity.
Leads HR programs, functions, and policies as they apply to employee relations, benefits, safety, performance, and staffing levels.
Works to develop an employee-oriented company culture that emphasizes engagement, continuous improvement, and employee retention and development.
Assists with implementation of new systems and processes that are in line with RE+ Events high growth needs in Finance, HR, and administration.
Responsible for weekly financial reporting for Board of Directors.
Manages annual budget process: budget timeline, budget meetings, reviews and analyzes proposed budgets, assists in presentation for budget approval. Educates and works with senior management to ensure timely and accurate budgets.
Supports and coordinates annual audit.
Responsible for vendor contract management record keeping and reporting.
Oversees exhibitor and attendee problem resolution and collections. Act as the key liaison between the Finance, Sales and Operation teams leading up to and onsite at RE+ events.
Onsite event duties include supporting management and operation of attendee and exhibitor registration.
Minimum of a BA or BS in Accounting or Finance; CPA or CMA preferred.
Eight or more years of accounting work experience with demonstrated ability to deliver regular financial reporting, ensure accurate transaction processing, comply with GAAP standards, and utilize internal controls to mitigate risk.
Non-profit and association experience required.
Recent experience with Dynamics Great Plains preferred.
Minimum two years of HR and Payroll experience.
Minimum five years supervisory experience: ability to train, delegate, and mentor staff.
Experience with new systems implementation and integrations.
Advanced technical skills related to oversight of all aspects of accounting operations.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office products (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
Technical accounting and advanced Microsoft Excel skillset.
Understanding of local, state, and federal employment laws.
Ability to multitask and work independently.
Strong oral and written communications skills.
Ability to meet and manage deadlines and work under pressure.
Ability to organize, manage time and prioritize workload.
