As the Membership Development Manager, you will provide support to the Central Office of the Higher Education Recruitment Consortium (HERC) by identifying prospects, recruiting new institutional members, and advising ongoing sales and member retention efforts.
Every day you will use your excellent prospecting, sales, and communication skills to recruit, retain, and maximize value for HERC members.
Functions/Responsibilities:
Lead and manage membership sales and demo calls.
Manage member recruitment process, including tracking, assessing eligibility of prospective members, utilizing messaging campaigns, and managing recruitment contacts through Customer Relationship Management (CRM) software
Provide support for membership renewal calls when needed
Develop and maintain member retention communications and tactics
Maintain standard operating procedures related to sales and membership onboarding and retention
Produce reports and analyses of membership outreach, conversion, growth and decreases, in collaboration with Director of Operations
Serve as a representative for HERC at conferences and other events targeting prospective members
Develop membership outreach collateral, in collaboration with Director of Marketing and Communication
Leverage HERC technologies to support member recruitment
Share industry best practices with organizational staff in support of regional sales efforts

Working Conditions
The position is fully remote. Some degree of travel (1-5 times per year) may be required.
Supervision
Reports to the Co-Executive Director and Director of Operations at Central HERC.
Salary/Hourly Range
$30-36, Non-Exempt/Hourly Role
Minimum Qualifications
Associate Art’s degree in a relevant field OR equivalent combination of education and 3-4 years of relevant experience. Experience in business development, member/customer relationship management. Demonstrated strength in managing large amounts of detailed information and implementing complex processes. Excellence in database administration is essential, as is experience with member service and sales.
To thrive in this role, you will have managed business development, sales campaigns, engage with new and current members/customers, facilitate prospective member outreach efforts and grow revenue streams, market resources. Your ability to work collaboratively is a must.
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree. Experience working in sales, an association, nonprofit, higher education, or human resources, talent acquisition or faculty affairs setting. Ability to build coalitions and influence others in ways that build long-term collaborative relationships.
