IMSA is looking for an energetic, driven professional to lead our Education and Certification Division. This director level position of Education and Certification reports to the Executive Director and is charged with managing the development and processing of IMSA education programs and certification exams. This position supervises the certification staff responsible for hosting and grading all new certification exams as well as the certification renewal group. This director works directly with the Education Advisory Council and Technical Advisory Committees on development and maintenance of IMSA education programs and exams. The qualified candidate will also be required to communicate frequently with other managers as well as the Board of Directors on status of programs. For this reason, they must demonstrate excellent verbal and written communications skills and show an ability to prioritize, plan and execute multiple tasks related to the areas of their responsibility.
Education and Certification
Works directly with the Executive Director to develop new education programs and certification exams.
Oversees the updating of existing education and certification programs.
Manages the program development process.
Serves as primary staff contact to the volunteer committees involved with the education and certification programs.
Works closely with program developers and consultants on content creation.
Oversees all QC on new and revised education and certification material created.
Supervises the certification team.
Responsible for new certifications including creation and hosting of exam prep courses through the online system.
Manages online exam programming, grading, and reviewing.
Oversees all renewal tasks related to current certifications.
Assists in special projects and assumes responsibility for the development, administration and promotion of specific projects as required.
Moderates educational and exam prep course as required.
Annual Conference responsibilities:
Oversees development and scheduling of technical program.
Actively participates in conference planning with staff and leads designated committees as needed.
Manages certification exam prep courses, scheduling, instructors, and staff.
Provides monthly updates on all projects for committee and board meetings.
Tracks and approves expenditures for division.
Works with finance staff for budget creation and updates.
Qualifications
Significant background in development, presentation, maintenance, and management of education and certification programs.
Strong project management skills.
Effective organizer, ability to prioritize and delegate tasks for entire division.
Strong attention to detail.
Excellent communication skills (verbal and written).
Ability to work with staff, volunteers, consultants, and board/committee members.
Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
