We are seeking a Director of Communications to lead communications strategy and delivery for AASLD and the AASLD Foundation. This position is remote with occasional travel required. Candidates residing in DC, Maryland, Virginia, Connecticut, North Carolina, Wisconsin, Ohio, Michigan, Illinois, New Jersey, and Florida will be considered.

As the Director of Communications, you will be pivotal in shaping and delivering AASLD’s and AASLD Foundation’s communications efforts, ensuring brand cohesion and messaging alignment across all internal and external communications channels. You will be responsible for building and maintaining relationships with media, creating and curating impact-driven content, and delivering best-in-class storytelling. This position reports to the Chief Executive Officer.
You offer:
Bachelor’s degree in communications or equivalent experience
6 years of experience in communications, with at least 3 of those years in management
Previous communications experience in health care that includes corporate communications, event communications, and program scripting
Strong experience writing compelling content for a range of diverse audiences and channels
Digital/web communications experience and familiarity with digital and web marketing platforms
Experience in public relations, media outreach, and crisis communications
Familiarity with health and scientific issues and policy
Previous experience creating and delivering presentations to leadership and discerning external audiences
