The Security Industry Association (SIA) is seeking an ambitious, collaborative team member to lead its outreach to vertical markets associations and develop partnerships and content related to the use of security technologies in key sectors of the economy. In addition, as the Manager of Industry Relations, they will work with the chairs of several member volunteer groups to produce resources, conference sessions, and events that provide value to the SIA membership and the security industry, as a whole. This is an excellent opportunity for an individual with at least three years of experience to contribute to a tech-forward, socially impactful industry at the nation's leading security association.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Key Responsibilities
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
Work with member volunteer chairs to provide direction to the Data Center Advisory Board, the Retail Advisory Board, and the Utilities Advisory Board.
Lead production of the SIA Security Market Index.
Produce the Vertical Insights Symposium webinar series.
Conduct outreach to and develop partnerships with vertical markets associations.
Support production of SIA Technology Insights.
Represent SIA in conference sessions and other public-facing events.
Specific Duties
Liaise with vertical markets associations to identify common interests and mutually beneficial projects.
Ensure that assigned advisory boards and interest groups engage in activities and develop resources that provide value to SIA members.
Conduct member survey, analyze results, and write content for the SIA Security Market Index.
Plan sessions, identify panelists, and host the Vertical Insights Symposium webinar series.
Assist in identifying articles and authors for SIA Technology Insights, and provide editing support.
Collaborate with other SIA departments, as appropriate, to support the success of assigned projects and to provide colleagues with support where projects overlap.
Other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience
Four-year college degree in a relevant field.
A minimum of 3 years of industry relations, communications, and/or marketing experience.
Association experience preferable, particularly in security, IT or critical infrastructure.
Requisite Skills and Attributes
Strong interpersonal, written, and oral communications skills.
Proficient in commonly used computer applications (Microsoft Office).
High level of quality standards and attention to detail; ability to manage multiple projects and meet changing deadlines and requirements.
Team player, self-motivated and able to work with limited supervision.
Knowledge of the security industry and ability to provide insightful analyses of key issues and trends in the industry.
Comfortable working regularly with all levels of association staff, as well as the Board of Directors.
Able to represent self and SIA in a professional manner and exercise the highest level of quality customer service in all member and nonmember interactions.
Committed to the success of the association.
Strong member service orientation.
Some travel required.
Bilingual skills a plus
